William Ridley

We welcomed our second son, William Ridley "Will" on May 25th.
It was a very eventful (and much different then Jacob's birth). I labored all day at home after my morning appointment~by this time I was a week late. I had wanted to labor as much at home as possible. The midwife said wouldn't it be great if you just came in at 8 cm.
.....when we finally realized he was coming we went to take Jacob some clothes to Wes' parents house (I had already arranged for Mimi to pick him up from Janice's and take him to church), but they weren't there. So we went to Starbucks because Wes broke our coffee pot 2 days earlier (on Jacob's birthday) then went back to Mimi and Poppy's. This was about 8-8:30pm
When we got home Wes put our stuff in the car as my labor became more intense. I had just finished a contraction and sat down to rest when the next started I stood up and heard a POP! My water broke. It was about 9:45pm. We arrived at the hospital about 10:15pm via ER. The nurse observed and checked me: 8 cm! Almost 9cm. They then took me to the delivery room and my midwife, Pam came (Will was her first baby all day). She stayed with me the whole time. When she checked me I was 9 cm. I began to push about 11:30ish. It seemed to take forever...they were wanting me to push even without a contraction. Once they got his shoulders out he was here @ 11:43pm (1 1/2hrs after getting to the hospital), but very cold. His core temp was very low so they had to take him first.
Once I got him they unwrapped and put him on me then wrapped us both in a warm blanket. He weighed 9 lbs 8oz. BIG BOY!!! 21 3/4 inches long and that chest was 14 1/2 inches.
