We are in Auburn spending our Christmas time with my parents and celebrating my mother's birthday today. Her and I got to do a little shopping and then we had Provinos (a really yummy Italian Restraunt in Auburn) for her Birthday dinner. I hope that everyone had a blessed Christmas with their families. May the New Year bring you many more!

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
We woke up and opened our presents...just the 3 of us...then we went to Wes' sisters for Brunch around 10 and to exchange gifts with his family. Jacob and Kylee were so funny to watch. They act like brother and sister. They get excited to see each other, but then they are very possessive with the things they have or play with. I guess it's just that age.
We left there to come home for Jacob's nap. I made crock pot mac and cheese to take to Wes' parents and we picked up a little bit. We arrived at Ron and Barb's a little after 4pm. We had a wonderful dinner. Ham, green beans, baked beans, sweet potatoes casserole, cheese potatoes (Gma Johnston's) and mac n cheese.
After dinner Wes, Barb, Aunt Lori & I took the kids on a walk. Needed to work off the calories we just ate. We then open our stockings and others exchanged more gifts. Jacob & Kylee played with her new kitchen and his ball toy.
It was a very memorable Christmas with Family. Tomorrow we will travel to Auburn to visit with my family. More gifts to open. But the Best Gift is the gift the God gave us....His son Jesus Christ! God Bless you All!

Christmas Eve
After we attended the Christmas Eve Service we headed over to Wes' parents for dinner and then opened gifts with his Grandmother and Aunt. I was able to capture some very priceless moments of Jacob opening some gifts. I was surprised how much he got into the present thing. I think he even found a new way of opening gifts. Check out him opening his gift from Aunt Lori and then from Mimi & Poppy!
God Bless Everyone and Merry Christmas!

Christmas Break
Yes it's Christmas Break...but it might not be as relaxing with my little man. Jacob is just full force all the time and he has been a hand full lately. He even broke my eye glasses this past Friday. He was pretty pleasant this weekend. His moods have been changing like a light switch lately. I'll try to keep everyone update throughout our break! Have a Blessed week!

Happy Holidays
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We joined my dad's family in Carolina Beach, NC for our family festivities.
Thursday we went to Ft. Fisher for some family portraits. It was a beautiful day. Jacob was sure about the sand.

Friday we went to the NC Aquarium. Jacob's 1st visit to an aquarium. He even touched a Horseshoe Crab (right).
Jacob and his 2nd cousins, Zander & Kendall, eating apples together.

Fall 2008 Update
- After visiting Auburn for the Tennessee and LSU Games two weekends in a row we arrive back in West Columbia to be involved in a Life Action Ministries Revival for two weeks. Then Wes' Grandfather passed away on Oct 17th to be with Our Lord and Savior. We were able to celebrate his 80th Birthday the Friday before with a family dinner. He enjoyed watching his great grandson & daughter play & laugh. He turn 80 on Oct. 6th.
- Since
my last post we are still waiting to hear if we have been approved for a loan for our house. Please pray that we will receive our loan so we can begin to build our new home.
- Jacob cut 3 molars in October and another front tooth - Totaling 11 teeth thus far. He is learning so much. He climbs on everything (His nickname "Monkey Man" fits him well). He especially loves the couch. His vocabulary is increasing daily, he can point & say ear, eye, nose,he loves balls & cars, playing outside and smiles & laughs all the time. He is becoming a little boy before our eyes. He learn to go down a slide head first and loves it. He jumped on a trampoline for the first time 2 weeks ago and love it. He is just a bunch of energy -from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed.
God has truly Blessed us!

A New Home
Well - after about a year of looking we have finally found a house plan that we both like, so now we can begin to build our new home. We purchased a Lot last August in a new neighborhood in Springdale, so we won't be moving far. We plan to make a few changes but check out the link to see our new home.http://www.houseplans.com/plan_details.asp?id=7822
Please pray for us as we begin this process. We plan to start build in late October/early November-which will have us moving in around May. I don't get out of school until June 5th. It will also be a new challenge with Jacob for we will have to reteach rules and boundaries in the new house. Though I'll miss our 1st home, it is truly exciting! Just not looking forward to packing.

Back to School
Well- We barely survived my first week back to work from the summer break. Lots of crying (and not because we were leaving each other) mostly once we got home. I think it is going to take awhile for Jacob & I to adjust to getting up earlier and having new schedules. Jacob has been walking for almost 4 months now and speaks several words (i.e. ball (his favorite), cookie, daddy, juice, doggie, kitty, more, puppy (his stuffed animal), etc). Did you notice that mommy was not in that list :( . Jacob is at that stage were he wants to be independent and into everything, but then wants to be picked up-just to wiggle and want down. I sometimes feel like I cannot please him-but he definitely likes to be with daddy! He sees Wes & his face lights up or he cries for him because he wants to be with him. I hope that this is just a stage. I guess only time will tell. Please keep us in your prayers. Pray for patience!
Have a Blessed week!

Summer Update
We 1st stayed a few days at my grandparents-then we moved all our stuff to Ocean Manor Hotel on the Beach just to stay one night-the next day we were upgraded to the Penthouse because the air condition was not working in the previous room. Did I say how hot it is in FL ;).
Lets just say someone could write a very interest book on the events that unfolded within my family last week, but we all got to spend time with our loved ones and celebrate the man that brought us all here! Happy 80th Birthday Grandpa! I Love You!!!
p.s. I'll try and get more photos up soon.

"One Nation Under God"
We are in Gulf Shores with my parents (kelbe) about to head to the beach. Jacob's first time in the Gulf. He's been to SC beaches twice (2m & 11m) He wasn't to sure about the sand and water. So we'll see how he does. He traveled very well. We drove to Auburn Wednesday after lunch. He took a 40 minute nap in the first part of our trip and was awake for about 3 hours. We spent the night in AU then left Thursday afternoon. He was awake the whole 4 hours in the car. We are so blessed to have a wonderful son. He is just full of energy and a joy to be around as he explores his world.
We are so blessed to live in this country and many of us take it for granted. I know that gas prices are high (but as our pastor states it could be worse- some countries in Europe are almost $10/gal). Our country was founded and lead by many men of Faith. God blessed us with this beautiful place and though it will never compare to what I vision Heaven to be, we should be thankful that we live in America during our time on Earth. May god be with you as we American's celebrate our 232 year of Independence.

Summer Update
The first month of Summer is almost over. Jacob is mastering his Walking and Tooth # 4 & 5 has broken through. He loves to clap and has begun to give us high fives. He Loves to climb stairs and pet Maggie & Hersey(our dog & cat). Sami (our other cat) doesn't let him near her. He likes to put things inside other things. Which includes toilettes. Yes he put my cell phone in the toilette. Luckily it was my old one and it so happens that it still works.
He began to say around his 1st Bday 'mama' a little, but mostly 'dada' but hasn't really said them recently. Still not sure if he knows what they mean. He mostly just jabbers and everything is 'ball' though it comes out more like 'baa'. I believe that he is trying to say 'puppy' (he has a stuffed puppy dog that he sleeps with.
The joys of having a toddler!

Teething
Please keep Jacob in your prayers as he is cutting 5 teeth on top at once. He has been running a low grade fever since Saturday. He is hanging in there pretty well. A little fussy and yesterday didn't eat much...and if Jacob doesn't eat you know somethings wrong. Luckily he is still sleeping well. He took 2-2hour naps today. Thanks and have a Blessed Week!

First Week of Summer
Yesterday I was thinking about what I was doing this time last year. ...taking care of my new born baby boy. Jacob was just 2 weeks old at this point. I love now that he can hug & cuddle, smile & laugh, clap & walk...but I do miss that newborn stage. It is just amazing how much they learn and grow in a year. His 3rd tooth has finally come...working on 3 more on top I think. He has been a bit whinny the past couple of weeks. If it's not his teeth I hope this stage end soon. We had his 1 year pictures taken Monday. Between teething and his emerging independence it wasn't the best, but we take pictures to capture the moment, right. We have been able to do much but stay inside because of the raging heat. I hoping Jacob will conquer his fear of the water this summer, by taking him to the pool. Bath time has gotten better.
Enjoy some more photos of our boy!

Jacob's Birthday
My BABY is One Year Old!!!
It about 12:30 and I'm still awake getting things together for Jacob's party tomorrow. We had a good day. I took a half day to have lunch with Jacob and my family. Then we went to Walmart to get a few things (hah-a few things at Walmart=a whole cart full) for tomorrow. Then Jacob took his nap while Mama & Nana baked cupcakes, etc. & daddy played golf with Jacob's grandpas and uncle Kyle. We all met at Fudruckers for dinner. Came home and opened a few gifts and Jacob had his First hair cut!!It's been a busy day and tomorrow is going to be just as crazy.
Happy Birthday to my baby!

Jacob Walking
Less than 10 mintues until Jacob's 1st Birthday. I tried to download a video of him walking around the kitchen on Monday but it was taking too long. The file might be too big. I'll try again later.

2 1/2 Days
It's almost here. Our precious boy is turning 1! He is truly walking now. Before our beach trip he would take steps here and there. But once we got home you can put him down and he goes. It's amazing the difference 4 days make. I took some video last night that I'll try and post later. He just gets so excited. A new found freedom. Who needs to go to the gym with a toddler!?!

Vacation Time :)
It's been 2 weeks since Jacob took his first step and he is well on his way to walking. We are now at the next level of baby proofing. At least he knows what 'no' means and listens at times. He is finally getting over a severe diaper rash that he had last week. Pray it doesn't come back.
He is such a good boy and we are blessed to have him as our son. We will be leaving for the Lawson beach trip this afternoon. We are curious to see Jacob's reaction to the sand and ocean, since he was only 2 months last time we went. Please pray for travel safety and good weather.

First Steps!!!
Jacob took his 1st steps on Wednesday, April 23rd at 11 months old. It was really fast. He let go of a pedestal and stumbled about 3 steps toward me. He took a few more today too...still unsteady but a little slower. Our lives are over now! ;)
